Leveraging USA TODAY Network locations including New York City and Nashville, each session includes a set of acoustically performed songs, an exclusive sit-down interview with USA TODAY or a USA TODAY Network publication and a photoshoot with the artist. Performances are streamed on USA TODAY Network owned and operated websites and social media platforms, further connecting rising talent with the USA TODAY Network’s audience of over 140 million unique monthly visitors.
The inaugural series launched with a live performance and sit-down interview with New York City-based band Laundry Day, where they exclusively announced their sixth studio album would arrive this summer. The band has impressed the likes of The 1975's Matty Healy and Olivia Rodrigo, along with massive followings on both TikTok and Instagram. USA TODAY Acoustic also welcomed Daniel “DELA” Delacruz, the renowned saxophonist from the genre-fusing rock band Slightly Stoopid, who debuted his new single “Til the Dancing's Through” with his reggae-inspired band, DELA & Steady Rock Easy.
“USA TODAY Acoustic promises to be a captivating addition to our cultural offerings, fostering a deeper connection between our brand, our employees, and our communities,” said USA TODAY Senior Vice President, Monica Richardson. “This program underscores our commitment to strengthening relationships and creating compelling coverage that resonates across a variety of mediums.”
Coming soon: a performance by Maddox Batson, country singer-songwriter known for blending country, southern rock, and pop influences who will be opening for Lainey Wilson later this year on her "Whirlwind Tour.”
